Red Cedar Door Mats

Made from the finest Western Red Cedar, these door mats are handcrafted by the folks at The Crafting Place in Brunswick, Maine.  Each door mat is individually designed and wood burned so that no two are exactly alike.  The standard size is approximately 20" x 32".

Most of our customers tell us that they plan to hang the mat in the house as a decoration for a year or two and then use it outside.  (As a work of art we do not charge any additional fees.)  We can also make custom sizes for outdoor showers or other projects you might have in mind.

In coastal areas, Cedar will turn gray with exposure to the ultraviolet rays of the sun thus turning the door mat into the same soft gray color as the shingles on many coastal houses.  If you wish to maintain the reddish color we suggest that you treat the wood with cedar deck stain.
